Old Boys’ Union

A young man’s relationship with St Joseph’s does not end when he leaves the College. Indeed, the strong and supportive Joeys community is one of the College’s most resounding features.

The SJC Old Boys’ Union provides an opportunity for Old Boys of St Joseph’s to remain in contact with one another, enjoy numerous organised events, keep up-to-date with the latest College news and developments and to support the College and its current students. All Joeys Old Boys are warmly invited to join the OBU and enjoy numerous organised events throughout the year whilst also staying in touch with news and supporting the College.

The President of the OBU is Cess Basha (79).

Some of the major functions and activities organised or supported by the OBU in recent years include:

  • The Sport Lovers Lunch
  • Class reunions
  • Careers nights for Year 11 students
  • An annual dinner for graduating Year 12 students
  • The visitation and welfare program which sees volunteer Old Boys support their fellow Old Boys who are sick or experiencing times of difficulty
  • Golf Challenge between Joeys and Riverview
  • Jacks’ Bar at The Park
