Writing books and fundraising for sick kids

St Joseph's College's award winning Write a Book in a Day team helped brighten the day of sick children when they visited the Children’s Hospital Westmead recently.

The boys presented the hospital with a $600 donation from the college - $100 for every team entered into the Write a Book in a Day competition – which will go to the Oncology Children’s Foundation. The boys also brought copies of the stories written by the SJC teams, which will be added to the hospital’s library.

During their visit, the boys were awarded their certificates for achieving third place in the state-wide Write a Book in a Day competition with their book Parrot Talk. The boys – Matthew Bartlett, Thomas Condon, Timothy Coorey, Nicholas Ingram, Nicholas Needs, Luke Smith, Peter Toohey – hope the SJC books help make sick childrens’ time in hospital a little easier.
