Mothers Day

St Joseph’s College knows a boy’s relationship with his mum is a very special one. The bond between mother and son is one of the deepest, most enduring relationships he will experience in his lifetime and will help shape the type of man he becomes.

Each year St Joseph’s College celebrates this unique relationship with the Year 10 Mothers Day Lunch. The boys are always eager to spend time with their mums and the annual lunch on the lawn is a special time for everyone involved. In the true Joeys family spirit, boys whose mums are unable to attend share lunch with their friends’ families.

In the weeks leading up to Mothers Day, all boys at the College are invited to purchase gifts for their mums at the Craft@Joeys Mothers Day stall. To ensure gifts make it home in time for mum’s special day, boarders can have their items posted at no extra cost.

As a Marist school, we celebrate our Marian tradition and remember the important role of Mary in the life of Jesus. Mothers Day at the College provides an opportunity for each boy to reflect on his relationship with his mother and to express gratitude for the special nurturing role she plays in his life.
