Three ensembles from St Joseph’s College each won first place in the Ryde Eisteddfod on Tuesday 7 August.
Performances by the SJC Big Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble (pictured right) and Chamber Strings impressed audiences and judges alike, with each group placing first in its division.
Head of Music at SJC, Mr Alan Dawson, said the ensembles’ success was evidence that the recent performing arts tour to New Zealand was an excellent development opportunity for the musicians.
