COUNTRYLINK TRAVEL FOR BOARDERS

The College arranges Countrylink holiday travel for boarders going home and returning to school. This travel must be booked in advance by parents.

SJC BUSES

The college operates daily return bus services from the Eastern Suburbs and the Northern Beaches. A service from the St George and Sutherland Shire operates on Monday mornings only. There is a cost to parents for using these services.

Eastern Suburbs bus

This service starts at 7:20am at Bondi Junction Station and picks up at 7:30am at Edgecliffe Station.

On the return journey the bus will leave from the Mark Street gates of the college at 5:30pm.

Additional stops on this route can be organised if needed.

Northern Beaches bus

The bus leaves at 6:50am from Harbord and travels through Brookvale, Manly Vale, Balgowlah, Mosman, Cremorne, Neutral Bay, North Sydney, St Leonards, Greenwich, Longueville and Lane Cove, to arrive at St Joseph's College by 8:00am.

On the return journey the bus will leave from the Mark Street gates of the college at 5:30pm arriving back at Harbord between 6:15pm-6:20pm.

St George and Sutherland Shire bus

This service only operates on Monday mornings. First pick up is at 6.45am at Caringbah, then 6.55am at Sylvania, then 7.10am at Hurstville.

CITYRAIL TRAINS

Trains to Chatswood or Meadowbank stations and then pick up State Transit (Government) Buses Route 536. For more public transport information go to www.131500.com.au.

FERRY SERVICES

Ferry services operate from Circular Quay to Valentia Street Wharf and Gladesville Wharf. From Valentia Street Wharf the State Transit (Government) Buses Route 538 provides a connecting service that travels along Ryde Road past the front gates of the college. TAXIS

From the city: The taxi fare from the City to St Joseph’s is approximately $30. This may vary according to amount of traffic congestion and the time of day.

From the airport: The taxi from the airport is approximately $50. Again this may vary.

Tips are not expected from taxi drivers in Sydney.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY TRANSPORT

Transport by bus and train is arranged for country students to go home during school holiday periods.
