Very strong results at Head of the River
Posted on March 20, 2014
There was no doubting the strength of the boys in cerise and blue at this year’s Head of the River regatta, with rowers and supporters demonstrating unrivaled commitment, enthusiasm and spirit.
The Head of the River revealed the force of Joeys rowing, with the College having more podium finishes than any other school this year. Of the eleven races, St Joseph’s crews placed first in four and second in four – an outstanding effort that reflects each boy’s hard work and dedication to succeed in the demanding sport.
Joeys rowing has been strengthened and enhanced under the leadership of the Convenor of Rowing Mr Bob Shirlaw and his band of coaches. These hardworking and generous men are to be congratulated on their guidance and support of the crews in their care.
