2019 Senior Performing Arts Production

Posted on July 30, 2019

St Joseph’s College invites family and friends of the College to watch Year 11 Drama and Music students performing in the 2019 Senior Performing Arts Production of ‘Regatta’.

Wednesday 31 July to Friday 2 August 2019
7.00pm – 9.00pm
St Joseph’s College Drama Theatre

Regatta is inspired by two historic King’s Cup regattas: the 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta, in which military VIIIs bearing the scars of World War I raced against each other, and the commemoration of its centenary this year that saw men and women compete in the same boats for the first time at an elite rowing event.

The script was co-created by Joeys Performing Arts students in liaison with Scott Paterson (parent 2013), Chris Hartley (current parent), the National Archives of Australia, the Australian War Memorial, the College Archives Department, the Br Liguori Resources Centre, drama industry partners and a healthy dose of Google docs!

The original musical composition and adaptation is by Head of Music Paul Howe and music students. Also performing will be students from Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and St Vincent’s College Potts Point.

Don’t miss this very special production.

Head of Drama Pat O’Shea at poshea@joeys.org if you would like to join us.
