2019 Marist Sony Children’s Camp

Posted on December 6, 2019

Our annual Marist Sony Children’s Camp is underway! For 4 days and 3 nights our Year 11 students, alongside students from Marist Sister’s Woolwich and Brigidine College have taken on the role of carer to 40 children with disabilities. Primarily the aim of the Camp is to provide much needed respite for the parents of the children with disabilities; the reality is though, that there are unmeasurable benefits to all who become involved.

Joe boys and students from participating schools, take on a role that has the potential to be very confronting, yet the participating students are carrying out the role of carer with amazing compassion and the most remarkable loving care. It continues to be a complete privilege to join with staff members and parents, who generously give of their time, to witness the work of our young people for the duration of the Camp. To observe students in the role of carer is to witness God’s hand at work among our young people.
