Year 12 Graduation a success story
Posted on November 18, 2020
On Saturday 14 November, the College, parents and carers celebrated and farewelled Year 12 at the 2020 Graduation Mass and Dinner. Due to COVID restrictions, for the very first time this special occasion was held offsite at Rosehill Gardens. As they have continued to do throughout their final year, both the boys and their loved ones made the best of the situation, and the evening was a night to remember.
Ahead of the festivities, a prayer service was held on Saturday morning in the College Chapel to ensure the boys were given the time for prayer, and the chance to reflect on their time at Joeys.
As evening approached, a convoy of families made their way down James Ruse Drive towards Rosehill Gardens, where the annual Graduation Mass and Dinner was held. Parents took their socially distanced seats and watched on as their sons participated in a final Mass.
The boys were eager to ensure all traditions were maintained. They formed a guard of honour to show their appreciation and thanks for the sacrifice, support and dedication their families have given throughout their school lives. The evening was capped off with the graduation and dinner.
Under very challenging circumstances, the Year 12 boys and their families have shown great strength and resilience. The College congratulates the boys on their achievements, wishes them well and trusts they will continue to “Strive for Better Things”.
