End of year Mass for Year 7
Posted on December 4, 2020
On our final day of school for 2020, a Mass for Year 7 was held in the College Chapel. The boys presented their home made Rosary Beads at the Offertory and they were blessed by Fr Gavin before being parcelled up and sent across the seas; they are a symbol of love and hope that we collectively share as we move through the Season of Advent.
Year 7 students recently spent a session learning about the history and relevance of the Rosary. The boys were introduced to the Mysteries of the Rosary and guided through a brief explanation of why the Rosary is relevant in their lives and how through praying it we grow closer to Jesus and Mary as we develop a deeper understanding of their joys and sorrows. The students then spent some time making sets of Rosary Beads that will be gifted to children and families in our extended Marist family in the Philippines (Marist Street Centre) and East Timor. The boys all wrote individual cards to accompany their Rosary Beads.
