The Sport Lovers Lunch is the biggest fundraiser in the Joeys calendar, with more than 500 attendees made up of mainly current and past parents, Old Boys and their partners. This year’s event was held at Allianz Stadium – a new location for the College which provided the perfect setting for a memorable afternoon. As guests arrived, they enjoyed drinks overlooking the legendary pitch that had been transformed with ‘all things Joeys’, including footage of College archival sporting moments shown on the super screens. Seasoned broadcaster Jim Wilson was our brilliant host, effortlessly leading proceedings that culminated in the premiere of a moving short film, Because of Joeys, which left many in the room wiping a tear from their eye. With considerable support from a generous contingent of our community, the substantial amount raised helped make this the most successful fundraiser in College history. We are grateful to everyone who helped us achieve this, providing continued support for Boys from the Bush bursaries at Joeys.
